Cheryl Woods

Hailing from Ottawa, Cheryl started coaching with Shadow Water Polo Club in 2017. Outside of coaching, Cheryl is head of Science at Marc Garneau Collegiate and the mother of two active players. As her two kids really developed a love for the game, Cheryl began coaching. Though never having played water polo herself, Cheryl drew on her own athletic experience as a synchronized swimmer and a competitive swimmer with the University of Waterloo Swim Team. Cheryl is primarily focused on the coaching of the Mini Water Polo team and also helps coach the mid-level U13 players. She brings a very simple approach to coaching the younger players – one that builds the foundation for their time with Shadow.  “Work hard and have fun!”

“I started coaching with Shadow Water Polo Club in the Fall of 2017 to help with specific techniques in swimming, specifically egg beater.” It’s these fundamental skills that she brings to help in the development of Shadow Water Polo’s future players.
