It’s Tournament Season

As the 2018-2019 season comes to a close we would like to recap the successes of our athletes:

March Madness in Etobicoke saw five teams entered into the tournament: two U12 teams, two boys’ U14 teams and our girls’ U14 team. All of our athletes played so well and had many tough games. Our two U12 teams each brought home a medal: Silver for the Shadow Lions and Bronze for the Shadow Tigers. Our U14 Shadow Lions brought home the Bronze medal. Congratulations to all of our athletes who competed this weekend. You hard work and dedication shows!

March Madness, Etobicoke, 2019

In mid-April our club hosted the U14 Provincials at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre. We entered a boys’ U14 team and a girls’ U14 team. This was our girls team’s first Provincials and they played so well and worked hard all weekend against some very tough competitors. The girls placed fifth. Congratulations girls you made us very proud of your hard work!

Our boys’ U14 team also played hard all weekend with a few nail biter games. They fought hard during the bronze medal game against the Ottawa Titans, which was finally decided in a tough shoot out with the win going to the Titans. The boys placed fourth in provincials securing a spot in the Eastern Nationals in May.

Congratulations to both of our U14 teams and a big thank you to all of our parents and coaches for supporting the tournament with your time and volunteer work.

At the end of April our U16 boys competed in the NCL Eastern Nationals finishing the season in 7th place. This team worked hard all year and their tireless effort showed in all of their games. Congratulations on a great season boys! Extra congratulations to Ethan Le for being voted Most Valuable Goalkeeper and to both Ethan Le and Thomas Sapozhnikov for being named to the U16 boys’ All-star Team.

U14 Eastern Nationals at Markham Pan Am Centre was held May 10-12. Our U14 boys’ team played amazingly all weekend. They placed 6th after another tight game with the Ottawa Titans that again ended in a shoot out. Congratulations on a well played season, boys!

Coming up next for us is the U12 Provincials in Kitchener-Waterloo followed by our final tournament of the year, Haba Waba in Montreal.
