Aaron has a long history with water polo beginning in high school in his hometown of Hamilton, ON. In 1997 he transitioned to Carleton University where he played on the varsity team and was Captain from 1999-2002. During this time he also played for the Ottawa Titans, first with the Junior team and then the Senior men’s team competing at numerous provincial and national championships. After graduating, he  returned as an assistant coach for a season and also continued to play as part of the Hull water polo club until 2004.
